Prior to joining Memory Lane, Sharon was Head of Publishing at Glassnote’s Insieme Music, SVP Music Publishing at Razor & Tie Music Publishing and VP Creative at Kobalt Music Publishing. Over her career she has been responsible for numerous U.S. hits and singles including four Country #1's (Blake Shelton "God Gave Me You" & "Over", Jake Owen "Alone With You" and Tyler Farr "Whisky In My Water"), five times platinum certified "Home" performed by American Idol Winner Phillip Phillips (also captured the #1 spot on ten Billboard charts), Mary J Blige "Suitcase", and Jessie J "Masterpiece”. Her signings include Slash, G Love, The Dresden Dolls, Gomez, Harry Connick Jr and Sharon Jones And The Dap Kings as well as publishers Arthouse, TVT, Red Bull Media, House of Hassle, Reservoir Media and Razor & Tie.
Sharon spent over a decade in artist management working with firms whose rosters included the likes of CAKE, Bebel Gilberto, Eagle-Eye Cherry, Neneh Cherry and Grant-Lee Phillips - formerly of Grant Lee Buffalo, Lisa Stansfield, Neneh Cherry and Eagle-Eye Cherry, The Cranberries, Meat Loaf and Richard Marx, Duran Duran, Luther Vandross, John Mellencamp, Motley Crue and The Bee Gees.
Her career began in 1989 as Assistant Manager at Sarm West Studios in London, a studio owned and operated by legendary producer Trevor Horn. Frequent clients at the studio included Seal, George Michael, Pet Shop Boys, Michael Kamen, Paul McCartney and Rod Stewart.
Since 2008 Tapper has been an active member of the New York Chapter of NARAS/The Recording Academy. Elected to multiple terms as both Governor and Secretary of the Executive Committee. She is currently Co-Chair of the Advocacy Committee and serves on the Education Committee.
