Alice Kristiansen

That seemingly casual share of her latest video by Ashton Kutcher on his Facebook page last year set off a firestorm for 20 year old, NYC based singer Alice Kristiansen. Up until that point, Kristiansen had a relatively small but loyal following on social media. What followed were over 3 million views of that performance as well as over 31 million views on her channel. In her latest release, “Twilight Blue”, Alice has strayed from the acoustic guitar and piano sounds she is known for; exploring electronic and cinematic elements within her brand of indie pop.

What has remained constant, however, is her pure, angelic voice, that fans have come to love. Alice, who was born in England before relocating to NYC as a child, is no stranger to music or show business. Her grandfather, Malcolm Vaughan, was a chart topping Welsh crooner and pop star in the 1950’s.

After being first discovered on YouTube at the age of 16 while posting cover songs, it was only fitting that her first release was an album of mostly acoustic cover songs. Her slowed down and hauntingly sorrowful version of Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” has landed on numerous Spotify playlists and has been streamed almost 1 million times. After the “Ashton Kutcher incident” other no table musicians like James Bay and Shawn Mendes began reaching out to pay their compliments.
