Ed McCaskey

Ed McCaskey was a man that ate, slept and lived Chicago Bears. McCaskey was a former singer who married the daughter of Chicago Bears founder George Halas. In 1967, McCaskey became vice president and treasurer of the Bears. He held that position for 17 years until George Halas' death in 1983, when he became chairman of the board. When it came time to create a fight song for the team, his former musical chops certainly came in handy.

In 1984 McCaskey turned the team over to his son, Michael but stayed involved with the franchise serving on several NFL committees.
